Maslen Nos Research Base
Maslen Nos Research Base was established in 1973 and is used by IO-BAS for research in various areas of marine science. Its geographical location and natural resources are particularly suitable for various underwater activities. Expeditions are conducted annually, the purpose of which is to update the data related to the processes in the sea and the coastal zone, to test new diving equipment, to train and improve the qualification of diving teams. The base is also used as a testing ground for oceanographic instrument, for monitoring the hydrochemical parameters of sea water, for education and training of deep-sea divers, training of students and scientists in the specialty “diver-researcher”, conducting student internships in the study of the surface and underwater marine terraces, the modern dynamics of the coastal landscapes and archeological sites.
