Ocean Technologies Department

Scientific and applied research in the field of marine technologies and operational oceanography is conducted. The main activities focus on: oceanographic instruments and systems, in situ and remote methods for monitoring the marine environment, assessment of the climate of the  main hydrological parameters, study of the impact of climate change and anthropogenic load on the marine environment.

The Oceanographic Data Center of the department provides access to marine data and information, maintains databases and creates information products and services in support of the national and European research space and business. It has the status of a National Oceanographic Data Center and is included in the IOC-IODE network.
